June 6th - July 5th Collective Works - Melting Pot
artEAST is pleased to announce MELTING POT, a new and exciting glass art exhibit. The Melting Pot exhibit brings together the individual glass art of eight extraordinary artists who regularly participate as members of Martin Blank's Hot Shop Team. UpFront Gallery will have an opening night reception with the MELTING POT artists: Jordan Brant, Jason Christian, Michael Church, Jon Harvey, J on Moreno, Amy Pruzan, Stephen Vest and Laura Ward on June 6, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

MELTING POT exhibit curator and artEAST member, Deby Harvey, is excited about showcasing the individual talents of the artists. "The MELTING POT artists are an incredibly diverse group which has the ability to come together to work as a team and bring any project to life, but for this exhibit we wanted to provide a platform for their own original glass art works, said Harvey. "We recognized the innovative talents and abilities of this group and wanted to share their individual talents with our artEAST members and the public through the MELTING POT exhibit," said Harvey.

"In the hot shop, each artist brings a distinctive flair and skill set and they join together to create art through shared efforts," explained Laura Ward, participating MELTING POT artist. "When we (hot shop artists) work on a project, we share our ideas, experiences, connections and theories on art, as well as life," said Ward. "Our collaboration can be seen in the finished art," she continued. "In MELTING POT, we are excited for the opportunity to display our individual bodies of work at the UpFront Gallery showing," said Ward. MELTING POT will coincide with the Issaquah Art Walk which is held 5 times a year from May until September on the first Friday of each month. Local and regional artists display their art in different venues in downtown Issaquah. Patrons get a comprehensive map of the locations and go on a self-guided tour of the artists and businesses. Citizens enjoy the array of local talent Issaquah and the surrounding area has to offer and have made ArtWalk Issaquah a preferred night out on their social calendars.
