Our community has a unique, one-time opportunity to transform the historic Lewis Hardware building into a vibrant and thriving art center. A transformation from a community hardware store to a community art center where art, enthusiasts young and old, beginning and well-established artists are welcomed, encouraged and promoted.

With your support the artEAST Art Center at Lewis Hardware will be an incubator space for emerging talent, an exhibit space for artists to showcase their talents, free exhibitions, artists’ demonstrations, workshops and hands-on art opportunities. An art center offering increased visibility and access to art and art programs, creating greater community involvement and pride in the arts.

Founded in 2005, artEAST is a non-profit organization of artists and art supporters on the eastside. We currently host exhibitions, art classes, art demonstrations, professional development workshops and an artist co-op sales gallery in a 1,200 square foot storefront in downtown Issaquah. We are dedicated to making the arts an integral part of life in our community. The artEAST Art Center at Lewis Hardware would triple our space, provide the means for us to offer a broader array of workshops, expanding our support for local art teachers, doubling the exhibit space, and providing a much needed permanent space for artists to work and collaborate.

We believe in grassroots efforts. We believe in raising up hammers, volunteering time, and sharing our talents and treasures. Over one hundred artEAST members are ready to build this dream of an Art Center and make it a vibrant part of community life in Issaquah and the surrounding area.
